What has happened to us in America
America became the envy of the world – the shining city on the hill. It became the greatest economic miracle the planet has ever seen. We worked diligently upon arriving, expected nothing from others, fought wars, and continued on with the daily struggle. We strived together, gave of ourselves generously, and put forth all the required efforts. We built upon common values, took pride in our strength, and built a confident America.
Then, we labored onward because it was at the heart of who we were – a proud and industrious people that never quit.
Now, it appears many of us have forgotten ourselves and our history, not seeming to care about anything unless it directly affects our life in the moment. What has happened?
Why do we want Government to solve our problems
Why is it acceptable to do nothing while expecting to be supported
Why do we tolerate such an inept and corrupt Government
Why are there aspirations to a life of welfare
Why are we so willing to give away our sovereignty
Why do we think illegal immigration is acceptable
Why do we waste so much time and effort bickering about race
Why are we allowing our schools to fail
Why are lawsuits and the lottery now the paths to wealth
Why do we reject religion that has been a hallmark of our history
Why are we no longer driven to stay on top of the world
Why are we always looking for someone to blame
Why are we no longer responsible for our own actions
Why do we feel such a sense of entitlement
Why are we always looking for the easy road out
Why has it become a crime to be successful
Why do we search for reasons to be offended
Why have we become so narcissistic
Why have we abandoned ethics, integrity, and discipline
Why don’t we make anything anymore
It would sure be nice to know how we think we will be the great America of tomorrow while refusing to be the America of our past that created such greatness. Our country was not built on these destructive attitudes, on the contrary, they have settled among us over time. It is time for us to care again, to get involved, and do our part individually to bring the greatness back, because this destructive path we are following is disastrous. Our Founding Fathers knew the exact principles by which a successful nation would be built, ones we have apparently forgotten. For Americans to flourish in the future, it will be essential to embrace those principles once again.

We have drifted away from the principles that made us great. The book “The 5000 Year Leap” outlines 28 principles that this country was founded on. We need to return to those principles if we expect to survive. I have begun outlining each principle as it applies to our modern society. Please join me in this journey. http://silentmajority09.blogspot.com/2009/03/virtuos-leaders.html

Answer: Because there is a philosophy or school of thought that believes “fairness” is more important than liberty and freedom, and this philosophy is winning the day. Pray to God they do not win the war! This school of thought says that it is more important for everything to be equal than it is for everyone to have the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The consequence is income redistribution becomes more important than earning income. Morals are not important because all morals are the same. There are no grades in school because it is bad for the self esteem of the less capable. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. Freedom includes the freedom to fail and when you do not allow failure (bail out….sounds familiar) you subsidize failure. There is an immutable economic law: What ever you subsidize you get more of and what ever you tax you get less of. What does this society subsidize (reward) and what does it tax (penalize)??? God save us from legislated equality of outcomes! When you have winners and losers by no moral offence, then there is always more prosperity and ultimately more justice for all.

It’s not what has happened to America. America is nothing more than a prescribed terriorty set by boundries. A piece of dirt, a plot of land. The question is what has happened to American values. Have they been erroded by the constant pounding of ignorance? Has the battering of years of no common sense bickering and fighting over meanial things worn a hole through the greatest country in the world. Have we the people forgotten that we the people rule the country and that politicans are only there to do the will of “We The People”. If congress can write a law to tax a certain set of people for something they may or may not have deserved, can’t they write a law that would allow the american people to unvote those same representatives before there terms are up if they aren’t doing there job. Who spends 350 billion dollars without taking the time to know what there spending it on? Are “We The People” really being represented in OUR best interest?
